Gambaro & Tagliapietra is a renowned maker of artistic glass objects, which are perhaps its best known and most quintessential products, along with chandeliers. The company produces masterpieces of exceptional craftsmanship in all sizes, ranging from traditional items (such as bowls, vases, plates, animals, candle holders, table lamps, carafes, drinking glasses and sculptures) to exclusive limited edition pieces for discerning customers looking for unique additions to their collections.
Over the years, Gambaro & Tagliapietra has continued to champion traditional Murano glass techniques while also giving them a fresh twist and developing new ones, thus ensuring that its creations always have a contemporary flavour. Traditional techniques such as adding “murrine” and gold leaf are used on simple modern products. They are contrasted with classic forms in very rich pastel hues made using the “scavo” method and black glass adorned with silver and gold leaf, as well as “incalmo”, “balloton” and “sommerso” glass items…
The main aim behind the company’s approach to production is to change, stay fresh and portray itself in a unique, original way. As part of this drive for transformation and innovation, master glassmaker Matteo Tagliapietra is constantly seeking out new shapes, combinations and challenges. Showing the same passion and dedication every day, he revitalizes the traditional approach while staying true to more than 40 years of history. Every piece is skilfully made by hand, checked and authenticated with an engraving of master Matteo Tagliapietra’s signature on the glass. Each one also comes with a sticker and a warranty certificate as proof of its quality and origin.
Gambaro & Tagliapietra is part of the Consorzio Promovetro Murano: a consortium of leading exponents of traditional craftsmanship whose products are entirely made by hand in accordance with the strictest Murano glass production standards. In addition, it has the right to display the “Vetro Artistico di Murano” trademark (licence no. 022), thanks to a scheme run by the Veneto regional authorities solely for glass works on Murano.
