The Foundation of Venetian museums, the Alliance Française, the Brandolini family, The Rosenberg family, David Landau, Airc and Consorzio Promovetro Murano announced the first edition of the international contest “Un Goto per Venezia” – A glass for Venice – , in memory of Marie Angliviel de la Beumelle Brandolini.

Marie Angliviel de la Beumelle Brandolini, was born in Paris, but became venetian by adoption. Former President of the Alliance Française she used to have a exquisite attention for motives and colours which she applied to the “goti”, the simple drinking glass used by Murano glass masters during their work, making them original and fun at the same time. She passed away in 2013.

This initiative aims to promote on a international level the craftsmanship of Murano, which today more than ever, is at risk.

The contest is open to young artists under 30.

All projects and filled forms (in Italian and English) must arrive before 31 August 2015 at the Murano Glass Museum – Fondamenta Giustinian, 8 – 30141 Murano (Venezia) Italy, or at the email address
