The official trophies for the 28th edition of Venice Marathon, as also in the previous editions, will be realized in Murano Glass and marked with the Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark, to represent the origin of the Murano products. Efforts and emotions will be shared by the Murano Glass masters, during the race starting from Stra, and arriving in Venice at the Riva dei Sette Martiri.

The first three athletes in the male and female categories, will be awarded with silver and crystal trophies characterised by the Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark, (designed by Diego Lazzarini).

These are going to be precious gifts, offered by Consorzio Promovetro, and realised through the hands of Murano glass blowers.


The collaboration created between Consorzio Promovetro, managing authority for the Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark, and the marathon, aims to join an ancient working tradition, with a sportive events very popular among the media. For a few years now, the Venice marathon has become a fundamental appointment among Venice events, with thousand of participants, and famous testimonial as Alex Zanardi and Paralympics fencing champion Bebe Vio.


The trophies are unique pieces, totally created in Murano and donated by Consorzio Promovetro to the Marathon as a symbol of positive values.


During the race, at the finish line a promotional spot about Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark will be shown and the 8000 athletes will receive informative material about this artistic peculiarity of Venice, a one thousand years old traditional craftsmanship, which survives to crisis with quality.
