After the prizes given to the Korean Rock-Pop singer and cultural ambassador Kim Jang-Hoon, and to the beautiful “eagle” who has flown from the top of St. Mark bell tower, the Olympic champion Carolina Kostner, also the most beautiful face masks of Carnival 2014 have received beautiful Murano glass prizes.
The mask entitled Principessa per un giorno, realised by Enzo Sindoca was elected as first placed, and received a gorgeous Murano glass plaque, representing carnival, characterised by the Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark.
The second placed one was Fiori di Ghiaccio, by Nicola Gasparini and the third placed one was La Grana come allucinazione collettiva by the Iranian artist Ahmad Jafari. The respectively received a precious black and silver leaf “bauta” and a colourful murano glass fusing technique mask, also with the Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark.
All these gifts are the products of a millennial tradition, the very same one Consorzio Promovetro Murano is trying to protect against the problems of falsification.
As Luca Colombo said in his TG3 piece “it represents a Venice, which still deserve respect for its workers, and which suffers for betrayals, and forgery.
