A joint action by the Guardia di Finanza, the Regione del Veneto and the Consorzio Promovetro blocked another attempt to counterfeit the trademark of the Veneto Region Vetro Artistico® Murano. The episode took place at the Cersaie fair in Bologna, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings, an event that every year attracts tens of thousands of visitors.

 

The report came about thanks to a keen eye that recognized a counterfeit mark on a glass sink, a very bad imitation of the Veneto Region Vetro Artistico® Murano brand. The Consorzio Promovetro Murano, manager of the Veneto Region Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark, alerted the Veneto Region which has worked together with the Consorzio Promovetro Murano and the Guardia di Finanza and the result was a blitz of the armed forces with seizure of goods.

Investigations are currently underway.

 

For years the Consortium has been working to promote and protect the brand through correct information, but sometimes we are also called to intervene in front of these unpleasant situations. I would not like to be misunderstood, but the fact that the regional trademark is the subject of counterfeiting means that this is useful and effective – says the President of the Consorzio Promovetro Murano Luciano Gambaro.
