The Foundation of Venetian museums, the Alliance Française, the Brandolini family, The Rosenberg family, David Landau, Airc and Consorzio Promovetro Murano announced the first edition of the international contest “Un Goto per Venezia” – A glass for Venice – , in memory of Marie Angliviel de la Beumelle Brandolini.

Marie Angliviel de la Beumelle Brandolini, was born in Paris, but became venetian by adoption. Former President of the Alliance Française she used to have a exquisite attention for motives and colours which she applied to the “goti”, the simple drinking glass used by Murano glass masters during their work, making them original and fun at the same time. She passed away in 2013.

 

This initiative aims to promote on a international level the craftsmanship of Murano, which today more than ever, is at risk.

The contest is open to young artists under 30.

All projects and filled forms (in Italian and English) must arrive before 31 August 2015 at the Murano Glass Museum – Fondamenta Giustinian, 8 – 30141 Murano (Venezia) Italy, or at the email address museo.vetro@fmcvenezia.it

Per ricordare la figura di Marie Angliviel de la Beumelle Brandolini, la Fondazione Musei di Venezia, l’Alliance Française di Venezia, la famiglia Brandolini, la famiglia Rosenberg, David Landau, il Consorzio Promovetro Murano e l’ Airc hanno indetto la prima edizione del Concorso internazionale “Un Goto per Venezia”.

 

Marie Angliviel de la Beumelle Brandolini, parigina ma veneziana di adozione, scomparsa nel 2013 e già Presidente dell’Alliance Française di Venezia, aveva infatti con un’infinita attenzione ai motivi ed ai colori, felicemente rivisitato i goti, i semplici bicchieri, utilizzati quotidianamente nelle fornaci come contenitori per dissetarsi dal faticoso lavoro. Rendendoli originali e divertenti al tempo stesso.

 

L’iniziativa intende promuovere a livello internazionale un’attività, quella del vetro di Murano, di alto artigianato che, oggi più che mai, rischia di scomparire.

Possono partecipare al Concorso internazionale tutti i giovani under 30.

 

I progetti insieme alla modulistica da compilare in italiano o inglese devono pervenire entro il 31 agosto 2015 all’indirizzo postale Museo del Vetro di Murano – Fondamenta Giustinian, 8 – 30141 Murano (Venezia) Italy, oppure a quello Email museo.vetro@fmcvenezia.it.
